This is a wheel thrown porcelain jar. It has been decorated by hand using blue underglaze in a pattern inspired by textiles and embroidery art. This pattern is called ‘undulating net’ and is inspired but the nets which fruit is sold in and the way that it expands and contracts with tension. It has been finished with a clear glaze.

I draw the pattern entirely by eye, a technique which ensures that no two pieces are ever the same.
